Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our partner organization in Akron, Ohio. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate claim submissions, and supporting the financial operations of the healthcare facility.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies
Verify patient insurance eligibility and coverage details
Review and process billing data for accuracy and completeness
Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve discrepancies
Maintain patient billing records and documentation
Communicate with insurance providers, patients, and internal teams
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and billing guidelines (HIPAA)
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree preferred)
0–3 years of experience in medical billing or revenue cycle management
Knowledge of medical coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)
Familiarity with billing software and electronic health records (EHR)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Good communication and problem-solving abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Certification such as Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or equivalent
Experience working with US healthcare insurance systems
Knowledge of denial management and claims reconciliation
