Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Pediatric Oncology Nurse (RN) to provide specialized care to children diagnosed with cancer. In this role, you will administer treatments, monitor patient conditions, and support families throughout the care journey. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about pediatric care, oncology nursing, and patient advocacy.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to pediatric oncology patients
Administer chemotherapy, medications, and IV treatments
Monitor patient responses and manage side effects
Assist in treatment planning and coordination with oncology teams
Educate patients and families on treatment plans and care procedures
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
Ensure adherence to safety and infection control protocols
Provide emotional support to patients and families
Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
Support clinical procedures and emergency care when required
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida
2–4 years of experience in pediatric or oncology nursing
Strong knowledge of chemotherapy administration and patient care
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
Excellent clinical and critical-thinking skills
Strong communication and patient care abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in pediatric oncology or hematology units
Certification such as Certified Pediatric Oncology Nurse (CPON)
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems
Knowledge of advanced oncology treatments and protocols
Strong empathy and patient advocacy skills
