Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Surgical Ward Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality care to patients recovering from surgical procedures. In this role, you will monitor patient recovery, administer treatments, and collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and assess post-operative patients in surgical wards
Administer medications, IV therapies, and wound care treatments
Assist in developing and implementing patient care plans
Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, and healthcare teams
Educate patients and families on recovery processes and care instructions
Monitor vital signs and identify signs of complications
Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
Ensure compliance with healthcare safety and infection control standards
Provide emotional support and guidance to patients during recovery
Support discharge planning and follow-up care
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of South Carolina
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred (Associate degree accepted)
1–3 years of experience in surgical or post-operative care
Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications such as BLS, ACLS, or similar
Experience in surgical wards or post-operative units
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
Knowledge of wound care and recovery protocols
Understanding of patient safety and infection control practices
