Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Records Technician to join our partner organization in Peoria, Illinois. The ideal candidate will manage patient records, maintain accurate documentation, and support clinical and administrative teams in delivering quality healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
Review, organize, and maintain patient medical records
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of patient data
Process and file medical records according to established procedures
Assist healthcare staff in retrieving and managing patient records
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards
Update electronic health records (EHR) and maintain data integrity
Collaborate with administrative and clinical teams to support patient care
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in Health Information Management preferred
1–3 years of experience in medical records or healthcare administration
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare documentation practices
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Good communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Medical Records Technician (CMRT) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
Experience in hospital or outpatient clinic settings
Knowledge of medical coding and billing procedures
