Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Backend API Developer to join our partner organization in New York City, New York. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs that power modern applications. This position is ideal for early-career professionals interested in backend development, microservices, and scalable systems.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services
Write clean, efficient, and scalable code
Collaborate with frontend developers and cross-functional teams
Integrate databases, third-party services, and APIs
Debug, test, and optimize backend performance
Participate in code reviews and development best practices
Document APIs, workflows, and technical processes
Ensure security and data protection standards are followed
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
0–2 years of experience in backend development (internships/projects count)
Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js
Understanding of REST APIs, databases, and server-side logic
Familiarity with version control systems like Git
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with frameworks like Spring Boot, Django, or Express.js
Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases (MySQL, MongoDB, etc.)
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Understanding of microservices architecture and containerization (Docker)
