Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Medical Equipment Sterilization Technician to join our partner healthcare organization. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all medical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and ready for use. This position is ideal for individuals who are committed to maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and compliance in a healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

Clean, disinfect, and sterilize medical instruments and equipment according to established protocols
Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and washer-disinfectors
Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage before sterilization
Prepare and package instruments for sterilization and storage
Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles and equipment performance
Ensure compliance with infection control standards and regulatory guidelines
Monitor inventory levels of sterilization supplies and report shortages
Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure timely availability of sterile equipment
Follow safety procedures and proper handling of hazardous materials
Support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
0–2 years of experience in sterile processing, healthcare support, or a related field
Basic knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control practices
Ability to operate sterilization equipment safely and effectively
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Good communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to follow instructions and maintain accurate documentation

Preferred Qualifications

Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (e.g., CRCST or equivalent)
Experience in a hospital or clinical environment
Familiarity with healthcare safety standards and regulations
Knowledge of medical instruments and their handling requirements
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
