Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Imaging Coordinator to join our partner organization in Sacramento, California. In this role, you will manage the scheduling, coordination, and administrative aspects of diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring smooth operations and a positive patient experience. This position is ideal for individuals interested in medical imaging administration and healthcare operations.

Key Responsibilities

Schedule and coordinate patient imaging appointments (MRI, CT, X-ray, Ultrasound, etc.)
Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, radiology staff, and healthcare providers
Verify patient information, insurance coverage, and pre-authorization requirements
Maintain accurate records of imaging procedures, reports, and patient communications
Coordinate workflow between radiology staff, technicians, and physicians
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, safety protocols, and imaging department policies
Assist with reporting, tracking, and documentation of imaging department performance
Provide excellent patient service and respond to inquiries professionally

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration or related field preferred
1–3 years of experience in medical imaging coordination, radiology, or patient scheduling
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and scheduling software
Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of basic medical terminology and imaging procedures

Preferred Qualifications

Certification in radiology administration or medical office management
Experience in hospital, outpatient, or diagnostic imaging settings
Knowledge of insurance verification and pre-authorization processes
Understanding of HIPAA and compliance regulations
Ability to support workflow improvements and departmental initiatives
