Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Surgical ICU Nurse (RN) to join our partner healthcare facility in Jacksonville, Florida. In this role, you will provide specialized nursing care to critically ill patients recovering from surgery. This position is ideal for nurses passionate about critical care, patient monitoring, and life-saving interventions in a fast-paced ICU environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care to critically ill post-surgical patients in the ICU
Monitor vital signs, ventilators, and life-support equipment
Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed
Assess patient conditions and respond quickly to emergencies
Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Educate patients and families about treatment plans and recovery
Ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety standards
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (U.S.)
1–2 years of experience in ICU, critical care, or surgical nursing (preferred for entry-level roles)
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and patient care abilities
Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Surgical ICU or Critical Care Unit
Certifications such as BLS, ACLS, or CCRN
Familiarity with ventilators, cardiac monitoring, and ICU equipment
Knowledge of infection control and patient safety protocols
Ability to handle emergency and trauma situations effectively
