We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Claims Processing Specialist to join our partner healthcare organization in Detroit, Michigan. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing, processing, and managing medical insurance claims to ensure accuracy and timely reimbursement. This position is ideal for individuals interested in healthcare administration, medical billing, and insurance operations.
Key Responsibilities
Review and process medical claims for accuracy and completeness
Verify patient information, insurance coverage, and eligibility
Submit claims to insurance providers and follow up on claim status
Resolve claim denials, discrepancies, and billing issues
Maintain accurate records of claims, payments, and adjustments
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and insurance guidelines
Communicate with healthcare providers, insurers, and patients
Assist in improving claims processing workflows and efficiency
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field
0–2 years of experience in medical billing, claims processing, or healthcare operations
Basic knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective communication and organizational abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with billing systems and claims management software
Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT coding, and insurance policies
Knowledge of revenue cycle management processes
Certification such as Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) or CPC
Ability to handle high-volume claims processing efficiently
