Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Blood Bank Technician to join our partner organization. In this role, you will perform blood collection, testing, and processing to ensure safe and accurate blood supply for patients. This position is ideal for individuals interested in laboratory operations and transfusion medicine.

Key Responsibilities
Collect, type, and process blood and blood components according to protocols
Perform compatibility testing and quality control procedures
Maintain accurate records of blood collection, testing, and inventory
Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards
Assist with labeling, storage, and distribution of blood products
Troubleshoot laboratory equipment and report malfunctions
Collaborate with clinical staff to support transfusion and patient needs
Participate in continuous improvement and quality assurance initiatives
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology preferred
1–3 years of experience in blood banking, laboratory, or clinical support
Knowledge of blood banking procedures, lab safety, and infection control
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Good communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Certification as a Blood Bank Technician (BBT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
Experience with laboratory information systems (LIS)
Familiarity with regulatory standards (FDA, AABB)
Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain workflow efficiency
