Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Blood Bank Lab Technician to support laboratory operations related to blood collection, testing, and transfusion services. In this role, you will ensure accuracy, safety, and compliance in handling blood products.

Key Responsibilities
Perform blood typing, cross-matching, and compatibility testing
Process and store blood samples and components
Ensure proper labeling, handling, and documentation of specimens
Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards
Monitor inventory levels of blood products and supplies
Assist in preparing blood for transfusions
Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper functioning
Record and report test results accurately
Support quality control and audit processes
Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure timely availability of blood products
Required Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field
1–3 years of experience in blood bank or clinical laboratory settings
Knowledge of blood bank procedures and laboratory safety standards
Familiarity with laboratory equipment and testing methods
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Good communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or equivalent
Experience in hospital-based blood bank laboratories
Knowledge of transfusion medicine and regulatory requirements
Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS)
Strong problem-solving and quality control skills
