Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Blood Collection Technician to join our partner organization in Memphis, Tennessee. In this role, you will perform blood draws, assist patients during collection procedures, and ensure accurate labeling and processing of specimens. This position is ideal for individuals interested in phlebotomy, laboratory support, and patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures according to established protocols
Prepare and label blood specimens accurately for testing and processing
Ensure patient safety and comfort during collection procedures
Maintain cleanliness and sterility of collection areas and equipment
Document collection activities and update patient records accurately
Assist laboratory staff with sample handling and processing
Adhere to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
Provide excellent patient service and answer questions regarding procedures

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; phlebotomy certification or completion of accredited phlebotomy program preferred
0–2 years of experience in blood collection, laboratory support, or clinical internships
Knowledge of venipuncture techniques, specimen handling, and safety procedures
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under supervision in a clinical environment

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in hospital, outpatient, or laboratory settings
Certification in phlebotomy (CPT, PBT, or equivalent)
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Knowledge of laboratory regulations, HIPAA, and infection control practices
Ability to manage multiple patients and collection procedures efficiently
