Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and responsible Blood Transfusion Technician to join our partner healthcare facility in Memphis, Tennessee. In this role, you will support blood bank operations, ensure safe handling of blood products, and assist in transfusion procedures. This position is ideal for individuals interested in laboratory science, transfusion medicine, and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities
Perform blood grouping, cross-matching, and compatibility testing
Prepare and store blood products according to established protocols
Assist in issuing blood and components for transfusions
Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper storage conditions
Maintain accurate records of blood usage and testing results
Follow strict safety, hygiene, and regulatory guidelines
Collaborate with healthcare staff during transfusion procedures
Identify and report any discrepancies or adverse reactions
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, or related field
0–2 years of experience in blood bank or laboratory setting
Basic knowledge of transfusion practices and lab techniques
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good organizational and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Preferred Qualifications
Certification such as MLT (ASCP) or equivalent
Experience in blood bank or transfusion services
Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS)
Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory requirements
Ability to handle emergency and critical care situations
