Job Title: IT Vulnerability Assessment Analyst

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical IT Vulnerability Assessment Analyst to join our partner organization in San Antonio, Texas. In this role, you will identify, assess, and report on security vulnerabilities within IT systems, helping to strengthen the organization’s cybersecurity posture. This position is ideal for professionals interested in cybersecurity, risk management, and IT threat mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and scans of IT systems, networks, and applications
Identify, document, and prioritize security risks and weaknesses
Collaborate with IT teams to recommend and implement remediation strategies
Monitor vulnerability management tools and track remediation progress
Maintain accurate records of assessment results, reports, and compliance activities
Support internal and external security audits
Stay updated on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and cybersecurity best practices
Assist in developing policies, procedures, and security awareness initiatives
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field
1–3 years of experience in IT security, vulnerability assessment, or risk management
Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys, OpenVAS)
Basic knowledge of networking, operating systems, and security principles
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with penetration testing, threat modeling, or incident response
Knowledge of regulatory standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS
Familiarity with cloud security assessment (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP Associate)
Understanding of scripting or automation for security tasks
