When Pravin started his coaching career in cricket, he wanted to become a fast bowler, but his coach suggested he go with a leg spinner.
He played for several clubs in Mumbai, such as Parsi Gymkhana, and later joined Shivaji Park Gymkhana and played for domestic teams. He was doing his daily job and following his passion at the same time. He appeared for the Ranji Trophy but unfortunately did not get through to be a part of a squad.
